It is lovely to see young Edwardian people in a casual grouping, rather than formal portraiture. There is often a tendency to think of people of this and earlier eras as being less demonstrative than we are. This picture shows how wrong that perception is.

The nice clothes in pictures from that period can make us think people were rather stuffy, but I imagine they were every bit as silly as we are!

What a wonderful group having fun! I wonder what the occasion was. Streamers hung from the ceiling make anything a party 😊

In the old town hall in the town where I live in Vermont, the top floor is one big room with a small stage at one end. In the old days, the town had dances and performances there. I’m guessing this photo was taken at a dance or community social. It looks like great fun! 🎉

Because the flags are there it makes me think it may be a 4th of July get together. The woman wearing white makes me think it may be summer as well.
